Small things for small problems.

None of this is rocket science. None of it is particulary difficult. All of it is helpful to me and that's why I created these utilties. In the spirit of the web and sharing, I'm posting them here for anyone's taking and using.

  Basecamp To-Dos to OmniFocus

  This script automatically sends Basecamp To-do emails to OmniFocus and sets the task name to the name of the to-do item. Please see Automate OmniFocus Tasks from Basecamp To-Dos for more information and instructions.

  Yojimbo Mark as Read

  Mark As Read allows you to remove a tag from a Yojimbo item (or items) called “toread.” You can change it to be any tag, but the idea came from my constantly tagging items as “toread” while simultaneously posting to del.icio.us and Yojimbo. I have a Tag Collection in Yojimbo which groups all of my “toread” items in one place.

  CleanGrab

  Created out of my frustration for the new window screengrab behavior in OS X Leopoard, which adds about 50 pixels around the selected window to show the drop shadow. This is great for some people, but I want clean window-only screenshots. Read more about it CleanGrab.

  Automatic Yojimbo Phone Notes

  Every day I keep notes of client phone conversations and other internal notes. I used to keep these scribbled in a notebook, but missed the ability to quickly search for some piece of information or tag something for later.

  Enter Yojimbo. I use the note feature in Yojimbo for my daily notes, but I didn’t ever remember to create one until I was already on the phone and had something important to jot down. This simple applescript coupled with a cron job automatically creates the note in Yojimbo every morning at 8:30.

  Whole Foods Market Recipe Search

  This is the same deal as the Epicurious search bookmarklet, but instead searches the Whole Foods Market database of recipes. They have great recipes that are simple (and inexpensive) enough for everyday use.

  Looking for a recipe to make with some ingredient or run out of ideas and looking for something new? Epicurious is a great place to look for new recipes and this bookmarklet will let you quickly search their recipes.

  Basecamp by Project Number

  If you manage a lot of Basecamp projects, you might want to refer to them by their unique project number instead of by name. This bookmarklet brings you to a Basecamp project based on its id number. I use this thing every day.

  This bookmarklet is a shortcut to searching eMusic for your favorite album or artist. It’s very simple at the moment.

  First Timer

  First Timer is an ExpressionEngine extension that allows you finer control over where members are redirected after a successful login. You can set one landing page for first-time login and one for any subsequent logins.
